Installing HudsonPanel

Prepare a compatible server, understand the requirements, and complete a safe installation.

HudsonPanel is a complete hosting control panel for a clean, dedicated server. It configures the web, mail, DNS, database, FTP, firewall, and panel services as one managed stack, so the condition of the server before installation matters.

Server requirements

Installation order

  1. Provision Ubuntu 24.04 and install available operating-system updates.
  2. Set the final hostname, create its DNS record, and configure reverse DNS.
  3. Start or purchase a HudsonPanel license for the server’s public IP address.
  4. Run the licensed installer as root and complete its prompts.
  5. Allow the final acceptance gate to verify the panel and every required service.
  6. Sign in, review service status and security, create a plan, then create the first hosting account.

Before moving a live website

Configure an off-server backup destination, test the website on its assigned domain or preview URL, confirm database credentials and the selected runtime, then update public DNS. Run SSL Readiness only after the domain resolves to this server and is configured here.

Recommended first review

Open Service Status, Server DNS, Firewall, System Updater, Backup Servers, and Email Deliverability. Retain the exact text of any failed check; it normally identifies the layer that needs attention.
